Descripción larga
The Museum of Huesca occupies two buildings from different periods: the former Royal Palace and the old Sertorian University. During the reign of Alfonso II, the Royal Palace and the tower housing the rooms known as the “Hall of the Bell”, traditionally linked to the legend of the Bell of Huesca, and the “Hall of Queen Petronila” were built.
At the end of the 17th century, Francisco de Artiga designed the octagonal building with a central courtyard. Later, in 1354, Peter IV founded the University of Huesca on this site, which remained active until 1845. Today, the museum houses collections of Archaeology and Fine Arts, including works by Francisco de Goya, Ramón Acín and the Master of Sigena, among other notable artists.
