Descripción corta
Baroque church dedicated to the city’s patron saint and central point of the San Lorenzo festivities
Descripción larga
Built on the site of an earlier Romanesque and later Gothic church, the current basilica is Baroque in style and dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It stands out for its hall-style layout and its brick façade built on a stone base.
Inside, the main altarpiece is particularly noteworthy, although the basilica’s greatest importance is symbolic and emotional for the city, as it houses the image of Saint Lawrence and is the place where the Huesca Dancers perform their first dance every 10 August during the city’s patron saint celebrations.
