Descripción larga
The wall of Huesca is of Muslim origin and was built between the 9th and 10th centuries, when the city was part of Al-Andalus under the name Wasqa. It completely surrounded the urban centre, with a perimeter of more than two kilometres and nearly one hundred defensive towers, becoming one of the most important fortifications in the northern Iberian Peninsula.

After the Christian conquest of Huesca in 1096 by King Peter I of Aragon, the wall was enlarged and renovated with Romanesque and medieval elements in order to adapt it to new defensive needs.
